A
house was constructed by the Montagnards and was to be used as a Med CAP
dispensary by HM2 Jacques J. AYD, a corpsman from back at the rear
Battalion Aide Station in Dong Ha, who was to provide more advanced medical
expertise than I could offer. J.J.
was killed on May 18th, along with several other Corpsmen in Dong Ha when a
rocket landed in the trench where they had taken cover. We named the
dispensary the "Ayd Station" in his
honor. A reporter from Sea Tiger was present at the dedication and they did
an article with photo on the opening of the dispensary.
